Not that I know of. I hope to teach my niece to sew someday, and when I have children. I know not to push them because I didn’t really grasp onto sewing until I was a teenager. I just want to have them see me sewing, what neat things you can make, etc. My mom is a sewer, and I think that piqued my interest many years later.

Well, not exactly. I’ve so far inspired a few friends to want to learn how to sew but not have actually picked it up yet. Maybe soon so I can have sewing buddies. :)

I hear of friends feeling the buzz, of considering bringing the sewing machine upstairs from the basement, and been asked for places to shop for fabric. so, I guess I have.

I have taught a few people but don’t think it could really qualify as inspiring them to sew

I’ve started this year teaching the basics of sewing to a small group of teen girls (12-15 years), and I think they were interested in the technique, but also with the ideas I’ve submitted to them (accessories etc.)

I encourage my students to sew everyday! Being a sewing teacher is very fulfilling because I see young sewers falling in love with it. Passing on the skill and love of sewing is great!
