I recently converted a bedroom to a full-time sewing room and it has changed my life! I used to sew on the dining room table and spent more time putting stuff out and packing it up then actually working on it!

I sew in the room where the family watches TV it can be distracting but then the family does get to comment on the clothes I am making. No space for a dedicated craft room.

I am in the process of turning a spare bedroom into my sewing haven. In the meantime, my poor dining room table has to serve multiple purposes!

I’ve dedicated a portion of my living room to sewing. By repurposing an old dresser, a long narrow computer desk, and some various shelves, I’ve managed to get a surprising amount of stuff into a little space, and still have plenty of room to sew. Even though I don’t have a sewing room, at lease having a dedicated area makes organizing, and finding things easy. Cutting is done on my dining room table.

I have a bedroom I share with a guest bed and lots of books. There is a table for my 2 machines, with a little more rearranging it should work.

I divided my living room in half and behind a tri-fold screen have a nice table for my sewing machine. I share the space with my two cats, Mabel and Clarie, who sit on the radiatior and supervise my stitching.

Sadly when we moved last year we lost a spare room for sewing. My Horn sewing cabinet lives in the dining room where I am able to nab the dining table as a temporary sewing space. I love that everything packs up so neatly into the cabinet. Still, it would be nice to have a room where I didn’t have to pack up everything all the time.

When we walked through the house for sale, there was a room upstairs which screamed “craft room”…. that and a whole lot more pushed us over the edge to make it ours. Now I count myself fortunate to have a space that doesn’t require constant stop & clean up when I’m done for the moment. Natural light streaming from skylights and windows, built in tables and attic storage makes it my dream room. I know I am fortunate to have it…

I am very lucky to have a room dedicated for sewing, it includes a cozy chair with good lighting for reading the stacks of Threads magazines I have collected in a basket next to my chair! It’s where great ideas are born, with a lot of help from Threads…

Even though a bedroom has been transformed into a sewing room, I still sometimes sew on the peninsula in my kitchen or on a TV tray in the family room depending on the project and my mood.

I do most of my sewing in an area set up in the basement. Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of daylight to sew by.

I sew at our kitchen table. I bought the table with sewing in mind when it was just me. Now, with my fiance also, it gets a little tight!

For over twenty years, I would sew on my kitchen table which required me to take out and put away my work every time I was sewing. Finally, we bought a house with an extra room and I now have my sewing room! What a luxury to leave your work spread out on a table and close the door!

As I live in an apartment with my boyfriend, we’ve got limited space. We do, however, have a HUGE office/sewing room that houses both of our desks as well as my sewing table.

I sew in a room that we used to use as an office but now is devoted almost exclusively to my sewing equipment- machines, notions, and lots and lots of fabric. I have pictures up of all of the projects that I plan to sew.

This room is my sanctuary. I feel so humbled and unbelievably grateful to be able to have a room devoted to something I love so much!

I have a room just for me and my seams. Spend so much time wrapped in tissue to create and learn new techniques, it would be impossible not to have a corner so to me. Now I want to start making my clothes and I discovered this blog makes me full of desire to start making clothes. I have spent every day to read, but had not yet commented. My English is not very good … I’m from Portugal My sewing room and my world. kisses

I use a corner of the dining table. It’s not a dedicated space, but it can become one when I’m in the midst of something and want my machine ready for when I have a moment.
