We have a small loft space that was my husband’s office but I slowly took over as my atelier. My sewing machine sits on a very small side table, just large enough for only the machine and nothing else. Ironing board sitting next to my trusty machine, I’m ready for action at any time. Now for my next project…

I’m new to the sewing game. I sew at my dining room table. That lets me keep an eye out on my new baby.

I tend to take over the dining table and the living room floor. Where I sew becomes my dedicated sewing room! I’ve converted my computer cuboard to a craft cupboard thinking my machine could be used in there though I now have 3 more sewing machines…..I’d love a sewing room then I wouldn’t have to clear it all away all of the time.

My sewing area is in the basement: three tables set up in a U. Just purchased a sewing machine table on Black Friday and it’s made all the difference between being able to sit down and sew for a few minutes or being so annoyed with the arrangement that I avoid the whole thing. Now if I could get my husband to stash-down his stuff and get more room….

I’m so grateful that my boyfriend accepts my sewing obsession. I’m still really new at it, which means that everything I make still kinda stinks. I’m lucky he trusts in my potential because my supplies are strewn all over the apartment still.

My sewing machine is set up on the computer desk. When I want to see I have to push the keyboard and mouse off to the side to cut things out. Sometimes my husband is on the computer while I’m sewing. It’s very social even though we’re both doing our own thing.

I wish I had a sewing room! I have to sew on the kitchen table. This means I have to pack up my machines between projects – and sometimes in the middle of a project :(

I have a dedicated sewing room where most of my work takes place, but if I have to rip open a seam or do some hand sewing, it’s off to the patio I go.

I’ve always sewn in my bedroom, and I’ve always lived in the teeniest bedrooms – one was 6′×7′ ! But now I’m lucky to have a huge attic bedroom in an old house, with plenty of room to cut on the floor and a little nook for my bed under the eaves, so it’s almost like having a separate room for sewing. My industrial machine is in the living room though, because no way am I carrying it up the stairs!

I enjoy reading magazines, but they are taking up a lot of space. On disk would be much easier to store and look up articles.

I have a small bonus room that I use as my designated sewing room. I go in there, crank up the music and crank out my projects! I can never live without a sewing room again it just wouldn’t be the same! There is nothing better than your very own space to create with no limits! :)

I finally dedicated one room in the house to my sewing only. I painted it pink so that the 4 other males in the house would know it is off limits to them. Ironically, they see it as novel and like to look in the long mirrors and talk on the phone with their girlfriends! My husband likes the larger ironing board.
