I sew for myself and my husband – I’m not confidant enough to give things to other people!

I sew for myself and people I’ve met who have been through breast cancer (because garments often don’t fit correctly after surgery).

I sometimes sew for family and friends, and rarely for myself. Most often I so for my dolls and for my on-line doll club members. It’s “sew” much fun! I alter the patterns I get here to fit the dolls. For example, I recently made a diaper bag for one of the “Mommy dolls” by finding a free bag pattern here and then adjusting the scale. It worked perfectly! I loved the idea and the clear instructions.

Well, I mostly head the advice of Elaine of Selfish Seamstress blog (and Coffee Date dress creator!) and sew only for myself. The happy few I do sew for are my mother and my nephew. Beyond that, I’ve sewn once and a while for friends or coworkers but that’s so rare, it’s like it doesn’t even exist, LOL!

I started sewing for myself (to save money and to have well-fitted clothes), but over the last few months I have started sewing gifts for others. I’m hoping over the next few years to sew for customers!
