I sew in my room, in the dining room, at my quilt club, in the waiting room at the doctor’s office (hand sewing… a little hard to transport a sewing table:) ). Anywhere, practically with a flat surface that’s clear. No, I don’t have a sewing room… that would be really nice though! It’s what you do with what you got that counts.

My sewing studio used to be our spare bedroom. That room has been re-purposed into an office now, so now when I want to sew, I have to setup my sewing machines on our dining room table! Some day I may get the spare room back.

The kittens bedroom is also my sewing room. That said, I tend to drag my sewing machine, cutting mat, etc. down to the dining room table – I don’t want to miss anything…

I have a sewing corner. My ironing board, sewing machine, and serger are side by side. My basic sewing supplies fit in the area. Cozy but functional. mjchris

I have a swinger that has been well loved but problematic. I tend to sew whereever I have a large empty space at the moment wether it be my desk or my kitchen table.

I am in the process of convertingv a spare bedroom into a sewing studio and I am so excited. I have brendan sewing for 30 years and never had my own space. Now that all of our children have homes of their own my dream of having my own sewing room is becoming a reality. No more sewing on the kitchen or dining room table.

A dedicated sewing room would be amazing—but I’ve been making do with the kitchen table for a long, long time!

I do have a dedicated sewing room — well, a craft room, anyway — and I sew there when I’m using my machine or my serger. If I’m sewing by hand, though, I tend to sew on the futon, where I can see what’s going on in the rest of the house. (If you have cats, you probably know exactly why I feel the need to keep an eye on things … ;))

I sew in a closet with a machine I bought 27 years ago from a department store which I believe is out of business now. There is not name on the machine. I would love to bring my sewing into the new age.

I would love to say that I use the little desk in my bedroom as a sewing place but the truth is I’m more likely to set up my machine on the kitchen table. This generally makes the rest of the household a little frustrated with the chaos I create during projects!

Unfortunately, no! I do not have a dedicated sewing space. I have to uncover the dining room table before I can cut anything out. It slows the process down, but I must sew!

The question is where don’t I sew? I have all my sewing stuff in my room just in case of emergencies for ripped pants or a new dress. I love always being by my machine but waking up when it’s still dark can be creepy because I look and see my model dress form.

I finally got a sewing room! One of my children is out of the house and that is going to be my designated space. I am in the process of getting it all organized and have dreamed of having a fancy sewing machine. I am sewing on an old mechanical machine and want to expand my horizons and creative options with a newer much improved machine. :)

Well I have a room in my garage for a craft room but it halfway through being reorganized so I’ve got a table set up in my house to sew at for the time being. Medical issues keep putting the reorganize project on hold so its dragging out way too long. Hopefully soon…
