I just love sewing dresses. In particular I like to try and reproduce dresses I have seen at stores, expensive designer dresses. I guess I get some kind of satisfaction out of being able to make the item for 90% less.

dresses for my granddaughters. They are the only ones I think that appreciate my work. My latest was a blue and white dress for my granddaughters 3rd birthday and I told her it was a princess dress. Her mom said she wouldn’t take it off all day on her birthday, told everyone she was a princesses and she wanted to leave it on forever. ;-0

I love to make costumes! Growing up, I loved Halloween and part of how I learned to sew was through my mom making my brothers’ and my costumes every year. Now, I’m studying production design and costume design at SCAD and hope to spend the rest of my life making my favorite things!

I think I have two favorite types of things to sew: super-complicated, detailed costumes and super-easy instant gratification projects. They both give a different kind of satisfaction. :D

Skirts are what I seem to actually finish the most of, however I go back to piecing quilt tops a lot—it’s so much more relaxing, for some reason!
