No, I have barely started sewing for myself. It would be nice though if I could make money from it one day, especially costumes.

Thanks for this forum. I sell my items occassionally at an antique and collectbles store. I generally create for dolls. Today, Dec 19 is my birthday!

I do not sell my clothes. I just make them for myself for fun. But I am a beginner so I don’t think anyone would want my stuff anyways.

I have my own clothing line which I sell and make patterns for other companies whose things get sold, but things I make when I’m not working I don’t sell. Those are special just for my friends, family and I!

I haven’t sold anything I crafted, clothing or otherwise… yet. I typically become too attached to them. I do make things for friends and family, and I have been toying with the idea of selling things, I just haven’t had the motivation, or the strength to let go of my lovelies.

No I don’t sell my projects; with the precious little free time I have, I sew only for my family now. I’ll sew the odd gift for a baby. Now, I need to get started on Christmas PJ’s !!!

to sell things is such a difficult thing to do! i sew and design at the moment an outfit for a friend. she asked me to do so and it took her quite a while to convince me, that i will be able to do something for her. we had our first fitting the other day, and i have to say, that the outfit looks great and so far i am very satisfied. still i think, that my skills and techniques are not good enough for asking money for it, except it is something for the home. i am pretty happy with results on plads, curtains and pillows and i dare to ask for money if i do something for other people. Still i think it is just nice doing staff for my friends as a present!

I don’t sell them – partly because I’m not good enough, but mostly because I like to have sewing as a hobby and not an obligation; I like the fact that I can set a project aside for a while and not feel guilty. It would be less fun if I HAD to do it. Also, I barely have time to make things for myself and for friends! But I love to see so many handmade things for sale around the internet and I often buy things from etsy.

    Those books look AMAZING!
