1. Where are you from and/or where do you live?
I was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, grew up in Minnesota, lived in Iowa, New York and recently moved back to Copenhagen to explore this country as an adult.

2. What was the 1st thing you made? How did you start sewing?
I’m sure I fiddled with small projects as a kid because my mom is a sewer, but I vividly remember a teddy bear i made in my junior high school sewing class. It was a felt bear with a maroon snap-on bow-tie and maroon buttons down the middle. That class gave me basic sewing skills and through the years I would often make fleece mittens, flannel pajama pants or basic curtains and pillows. After graduating from college my mom gave me my own sewing machine. Since then I’ve made a lot of reversible tote bags, stuffed animals, and bunting flags. I’m slowly starting to (gasp!) use dress patterns.

3. What role does sewing play in your life?
I tend to go through phases with my hobbies. I work as a freelance graphic designer + paper crafter most of the time but I also love to sew, knit and crochet. It all depends what trends I see and the “gotta have it and I can so make that” moment. The other day I saw a Danish woman biking with a bright blue crocheted pointed hood/cowl thing. I thought: “Awesome. I so need to make one of those!”.

4. What is your favorite and what is your least favorite thing about sewing?
My favorite part is having a completed project that comes together easily. I dislike the “putzing” moments: figuring out a pattern for the first time, cutting it out, spooling a bobbin, etc. If there were little elves that would always keep my bobbins filled and cut my fabric, I would be one happy girl.

5. If you could make something for anyone who would it be and what would you make?
I would make my sister a mile of fabric bunting flags for her outdoor September wedding in northern Minnesota.

6. What are you looking for on our site? What do you think should be improved and what do you really like?
I look for inspiration and ideas from other crafters. I really like that it has members from all over the world. It makes me happy when people have noticed and “favorited” my projects. One issue I’ve come across is I never know how to categorize my home decor projects…it’s not always easy to pick a season or style but maybe that’s just me?

7. What is your motto?
Take chances in life. What do you have to lose?

Congratulations on being featured! I looked at your top ten and loved that they were all pincushions, it made me realize that they are often overlooked!
