1. Where are you from and/or where do you live?
I live in Scottsdale, Arizona where I am currently in nursing school.

2. What was the 1st thing you made? How did you start sewing?
The first experience I had with a sewing machine was in Kindergarten when our teacher let each of us push the pedal and sew the edge of a quilt she was making. A little over a year ago I purchased my own machine and started sewing handbags and I just started really making clothing items in the past couple months.

3. What role does sewing play in your life?
As a nursing student with 2 jobs sewing is my little escape from the world. I love saddling up to the machine and forgetting all my stresses

4. What is your favorite and what is your least favorite thing about sewing?
My favorite thing about sewing is the proud feeling in your tummy when you are wearing a handmade garment and someone compliments you and you can say “oh ya I made this”… I live for that. My least favorite thing is definitely when I sew things on backwards or inside out and I have to get my little nemesis, the seam ripper out, it always ruins my peaceful sewing vibe.

5. If you could make something for anyone who would it be and what would you make?
I would love to make something pretty for my mom and my sister. I also would someday like to make a wedding dress for myself or someone special.

6. What are you looking for on our site? What do you think should be improved and what do you really like?
What Im looking for from Burdastyle is lots of ideas and inspiration. It’s also great to show off your work and get feedback on your items. The one thing I miss is the feature when you would look at a project and you were able to see other items the member has made on the sidebar. I always got lost in that feature.

7. What is your motto?
I try to live by all of these sayings

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. "
~ Albert Einstein

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. "
~ Jack Kerouac

“Throw your heart over the fence and the rest will follow!”
~ Norman Vincent Peale
