Where are you from and/or where do you live?
I am Indonesian and I live in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. I work full time for my own company, an interior contractor and furniture manufacturing company. I am also a mom to two little misfits
How did you start sewing?
I started sewing after having my first child. I was mesmerized by patchwork quilts, then I started taking some quilting lessons, but I think hand quilting is not my thing and so I bought my first sewing machine, hoping I’ll quilt using the machine.
Of course, I never got to quilt using the machine and since I’ve bought the machine, I asked my Aunt to teach me some sewing techniques. Then, when I was in Brisbane, I took about 3 sewing classes and I guess it started from there. My favorite project would have to be my Mother Daughter’s matching ruffle dress. We had to wear matching outfit during Mother’s day, so I bought linen materials for us. I love my dress, because it actually looked flattering, I guess it’s my only successful adult outfit for me.

Describe your personal style in 5 words or less!
Simple, Easy and comfortable
Do you have a style icon who inspires your sewing projects? Where do you go to get inspired?
I don’t really have style icon, I just love cute things. I love artsy and crafty books and magz, I love blogs like bloesem, verypurpleperson, Wee Wonderfuls and many more.
What time of year do you find yourself most creative?
I’d say it depends on my mood. There’s no particular time of the year, but I would have to be extra creative during the holiday and festive seasons, since I need to giveaway presents to the people around me. I also like making costumes, I think it’s really challenging.
What’s your sewing experience like?
I sew when the children are asleep, unless there’s a deadline and I need to rush. My sewing space is very very small and I need to share it with my dear husband :). I like sewing when he’s in the “office” room together with me, he usually browses the internet or watches some tv show on the computer. I consider him my “white noise”

What is your dream sewing project?
I want to sew a party gown for my children. I’ve bought all the materials…I just need to sew them…but it’s still intimidating
How long have you been a member of BurdaStyle?
I’ve been a BurdaStyle member since 2009 and I love that it is a web for all people who love to sew. I used to visit the web every few minutes. Nowadays, I check whenever I’ve uploaded a project, I love getting comments.

What is the most frustrating thing about sewing for you? What is the most rewarding?
I hate tracing and cutting patterns as well as reading the instructions. Making my own pattern can also be very tedious. I really am an impatient sewer and would prefer making crafty small things :). The most rewarding part is when the project is done and seeing how happy the recipient is.

Wow, I really like your working space and your choice of fabrics! I think of purchasing a bunch of boxes to sort out my fabrics according to its content: wool to wool, cotton to cotton etc.
