Many of our readers are not only handy with a sewing machine, but they follow the goings-on of the fashion industry as well. And if you’ve been paying attention to the current collaboration climate, you’ve noticed there are many. From Karen Elson + Nine West, Target + Missoni, to Kenzo for Opening Ceremony, which ones are a hit? A miss? Read on to see more photos and voice your opinion…

If you could see any design collaboration happen, what would it be? What do you think about the current design collaborations going on now? What impact do you think diffusion lines have on higher priced brands?

Karen Elson x Nine West

Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Impulse line

Missoni x Target (which turned into quite a fiasco). Immediately above— If you missed out on the Missoni rush, Refinery29 shows you how to DIY your own Missoni canvas sneakers!

Kenzo x Opening Ceremony

Celia Birtwell (wife of the late Ossie Clark) for TopShop

And of course H&M, who were quite the forerunners in the designer collaboration process, they’ve collaborated with: COMME DES GARCONS, ROBERTO CAVALLI, MARIMEKKO, KYLIE MINOGUE, VIKTOR & ROLF, MADONNA, STELLA MCCARTNEY, KARL LAGERFELD, many more and soon-to-come Versace (above).

I absolutely adore the Celia Birtwell for TopShop – it inspires me to try mixing prints.

the missoni stuff is pretty cute, although not put all together ;) haha, and the nine west ads are more intriguing than their products, but then again i just love karen elson. lagerfeld… he’s just so hit or miss for me. and the kenzo collection is a little zoolander for me.

Completely agree with you, it’s gorgeous. Which pattern do you think would suit?

The rest of these styles are just too busy for my taste.
