This designer exclusive pattern is a collaboration with Anna Molinari for Blumarine from the burda style magazine 06/2011 issue . This dress is sensual in style, but also super easy to wear! It embodies a plunging neckline made by the wrap silhouette, and nice trumpet sleeves that give the dress swing.
This wrap dress is perfect for this time of year with its lovely long sleeves and fall color palette. For some reason I always reach for animal prints in fall time, I think it is because they match so well with all my fall boots. I think a wrap dress is flattering on all body types, and especially this design because it is made from knit jersey fabric so it stretches across the body beautifully. The collar is also another great detail to this dress. I think I am going to make a version with the collar (in a contrasting fabric), and then another omitting the collar and sleeves. One pattern really makes multiple garments, just remove and add simple details like collars, sleeves, pockets, etc!
Here I put together a style collage with this dress for fall time. I like the idea of wearing this dress under a sleek leather vest like this Leather Front Vest that has a cool strapy back. This early into fall I wouldn’t wear tights with it, I would simply smooth on some leg bronzer and wear it with a little pair of ankle booties. Brimmed hats were a big trend last year, but I totally still wear mine all the time. I completed this look with a matching Iphone case (because I am always on the go), polarized sunglasses, and a nice ruby red lip. I absolutely love pairing red with leopard print, it is both classic and beautiful.
I hope you enjoy this Designer Wrap Dress pattern as much as I do. Stay tuned for my version of this dress, I am definitely going to make one (or three)!
