Neon colors and fun shapes like a pleated maxi skirt, 70s style dress, and two tone track pants are playful for summer days at the office. Warm up your day with this fun new collection. These designs are from the June 2014 issue of Burda Style magazine.

Washed silk is so elegant in this ultra flattering day dress. An empire waistline with gathers and a V neckline emphasize the bust, and the flowing knee length skirt works with any kind of heel or boot. This piece buttons up the front and is tied at the back.

Make track pants a little fancier in extra fine jersey in your favorite coordinating colors. These jogging pants have a wide waistband and pockets, and would also be fun with a metallic or print panel at the sides. Wear them to the gym, or try them with a strappy heel.

This dreamy Pleated Maxi Skirt is on trend with a pleated chiffon overlay and a wide hip yoke. Tuck in a blouse, pair it with a crop top, or play with proportion in a boxy blouse. A thigh high slit makes the ankle length cut more daring.\

For fuss-free dressing, whip up the simple and sporty Cap Sleeve V Neck Dress with a classic V neck, slightly twisted side seams, and rolled cap sleeves. It’s a minimalist style with extra details sewers will appreciate.

A square shaped blouse with double pleats at the front and back is fresh and modern. Pair this clean lined top with bright pants for a pretty spring look, or tuck it into a pencil skirt.

Wear this Wide Neck Sweatshirt off the shoulder for a more feminine take on the super boxy shape. It makes a bright cover up for yoga class, or a playful top for a sexy skirt.

This sporty Shirt Dress with Hip Yoke has an unusual cut with a fitted hip yoke, high-low hem, and shirtwaist bodice. The collarless style is perfect for showing off your favorite statement necklace.

Shades of coral, tangerine, and lemon are always welcome in the summer. Find some contrast with bright turquoise jewelry, or let these pleated and ruffled designs speak for themselves with a minimalist pair of heels.

Happy sewing!

Love the double-tucked top: so simple, easy to make and stylish. Love how the armhole edge becomes a fluttery sleeve. Clever Burda!

I love this collection. I just made a very similar pant with a vogue pattern & I’d like to make that top shown. Love the Tshirt dress & oversized sweatshirt. I think the problem with this picture as another post brought up, is that a tank that is matching is worn underneath.

I love this collection – feels a bit more edgy and modern than the last couple of collections posted on here. The pants and top are definitely on my list of things to make.

Why is the completed sweatshirt so different from the pattern? Either the picture or the pattern is wrong

I need to alter my son’s shirt that is too small around the shoulders and biceps. How do you enlarge sleeves?

I like the square blouse with the two pleats.

As long as there is seam allowance In the side seam, and even in the shoulder seam, along with seam allowance in the sleeve seam itself, this can be done. If you let out the sleeve seam allowance in the upper area, you need to let out the side seam accordingly on the shirt. Another way to let a shirt out is to put a gusset in the underarm seam of the sleeve and the shirt which is time consuming and fiddly. There are many tutorials on google search for this.
