We are debuting this new sewing pattern collection from burda style magazine’s April 2013 issue. This is a collection of dapper designs for men and boys! Featured are lovely jackets, vests, shirts and pants in good old classic menswear style.

Corduroy Men’s Jacket with wide lapels and patch flap pockets with box pleat.

Little Boy’s Jacket with lapels and patch pocket flaps. Looks great paired with these Boy’s Trousers that are slim fitting and have back welt pockets. Top top it off wear this great Cap!

These Men’s Trousers are lovely for everyday, and look great with suspenders! We love it worn with this Men’s Shirt with collar and small slit pocket. A crease in the back below the shoulder yoke provides for freedom of movement.

This Chambray Shirt has pearl buttons and a classic collar and yoke.

This little Boy’s Shirt with collar and small slit pocket will sure impress!

This Cap perfectly finishes off any outfit. We also love this classic Men’s Waistcoat with slit pockets, front corners, lined back with an adjustable latch for easy waist fitting.
Happy Sewing!

I’ll bet those pants were too long for the model and the photographer took them up with a stapler or something!! Obviously not a sewer! hehehe ;-)

Oh god, was the hem on those pants done by a 5 year old? I’d love to see some men’s patterns that could be worn for more than hipster weddings held in barns.

As well as the dreadful hems on the pants I have noticed time and again that hems are really badly done. I was looking at an older Burda Magazine yesterday and a beautiful top was ruined by the hemming.

Good start on some mens clothes — although the pants hem was very distracting! I would love to see a few pieces for the guys each month, it doesn’t have to be an entire collection. Swim trunks, shorts, and short sleeve shirts would be great to see this time of year!

I am very excited about the vest and shirt patterns; I’m a community theatre costumer and we frequently need to find pieces for early 20thC costumes…those will work so nicely for us!

Don’t want to sound ungrateful, but next men’s collection can have shorts, dungarees/overalls, coat, long-johns, under garments (which there are non of), singlets, hoodies, cargos, tees and v-necks, jeans (they’re so hot together), male caftans?! Why not? they’re so comfy for bed – so says hubby;)

Finally something for my boys!! Though I hate that I have to extend every cut because they are tall and skinny. It would be fantastic to publish Burda magazine only for men with basic patterns for various “forms”.

These patterns actually ARE for Tall Men! (for the first time ever, hence the strange pattern size numbers)
