Just recently I made a sweet little robot toy for a friend’s toddler, and took the time to hand stitch it, because I wanted to include all that love and thought into the project. It was fun!

Haven’t hand-stitched much in recent years besides hems. I did embroider a little red ladybug last summer while I was working on a template to use on some tea towels.

I hand stitched a small pincushion, that had the same hexagons and pentagon shapes as a soccer ball. I also like to hand sew baby toys!

I made a zippered pouch for my husband when we were dating. I embroidered it with a city skyline and a star. I love it and so does my husband. He always shows it off to people and it makes me feel very proud :)

I know it is not little, but I once hand sewn an entire dress – it was during vacation on countless train rides! And it was a simple dress

Not really little, but I made a cross-stitched wall hanging of zebras. Took me about two years, but it looks awesome above the fireplace now!

A small embroidered pillow for my grandmother. When she passed away, it made its way back to me and now sits in my living room.

Oh few things in life are as soothing as hand-sewing for me! I usually hand stitch my dress linings, it gives me a much cleaner finish on the inside.

I remember as a girl how proud I was of the hand stiched dresses I would make for my dolls. Today most of my hand stiching is embellishing hand made tunics or tanks.

My hand stitching is atrocious, so far I’ve only done small parts on larger projects, like quilt binding and the finishing touches on bags.

My favorite hand stitched something was a small lavender sachet bag. It was fashioned out of antique lace and a bit of peau d’soie from my wedding gown and given sweetly smelling into the brides bag for my daughter. Small in size but packed with memories, tradition, fragrance and love to make new memories!

Have you seen how many patches go on a Boy Scout uniform? I may not have created the whole array, but I am always proud to show it off when I’m all caught up!

Before I had a sewing machine I wanted to sew so badly that I made everything by hand. So I made dresses out of felt for my dolls with shirts and pants. I also recently made a pencil case entirely by hand, that had a zipper.

I made a mermaid doll from fabric, adding tassels for her hair and attached sequined ribbon and an old hooped earing to embellish her!
