How to choose the correct size of a pattern… because “take your measurements and make the corresponding size on the instruction sheet” doesn’t seem to work for me…

I am always interested in new blocks for quilts. Sounds like a very useful book to have.

I would like patterns that show alternatives, ie: different bodices on a dress pattern, or different style sleeves etc . Just more ways/ ideas of using one pattern…..please! Many thanks.

I’d love to see updates of older patterns

I’d love to see more petite patterns, or at least more (better) instructions for altering patterns to fit small (thin) people. Great book…great giveaway.

I’d like to see some of the instructions of older patterns updated. I’ve noticed many are direct translations and more in the German style of pattern instructions, and not really using the format, terminology, and language that English-based sewing books/patterns/etc use. In other words, the instructions are generally really vague. :) Other from that, I love a lot of the recent patterns Burda has published!

Quite a few of the Burda Style patterns are lacking good instructions. Why not work with the blogging community on starting to update them? Maybe sponsor a sew-a-long? The instructions for the Alison swimsuit pattern were great after they were updated based on a blogger’s post.

This book would be great! I would like to see you maternity line added to. Also, it would be great if the instructions had a section that helped pick a size (since bust/waist/hip measurements tend to change a lot during pregnancy).

Some of the blouses have vague collar instructions. The Ute blouse was my first ever collared shirt and I struggled to get the collar on properly. Now that I know how simple a collar should be, I’d appreciate seeing some more comprehensive instructions to make it easier for newbies. Thanks Burdastyle!
