My favorite tools are probably my pins – those long, yellow glass headed ones! They hold everything in place, and I can find them again when I drop them!

I like my button box best. It’s filled with vintage buttons I got from my grandma, friends and family and I always look forward to going though it again when starting a new project. It’s like a treasure box and a notions store in one. I seriously get the same rush from it as when buying new ones…

My favorite sewing tool is my magnetic pin cushion, makes picking up loose pins quick and easy. Then I would have to say my Gingher Shears and Pinking Shears…. Make cutting seam like a dream….

My seam ripper! Everybody makes mistakes, right?
Nov 9, 2011, 06.29 AMby nadia42
Definitely my seam ripper!! That little thing comes in handy way too often. Following that I would say my fabric shears, they are super sharp and make cutting out fabric as fun as it can get :P

My favorite tool… my fabric marking markers! It’s so convenient and is almost like magic, you write on the fabric and you can erase it by leaving it out for 24 hours or by washing the fabric!

My shears with “for fabric only” written on the blades in permanent marker around 1986. I kept them hidden in an ugly green box. I had limited time to sew ,but always found the time for homemade Halloween costumes for my girls. The shears were used for many projects and are still fairly sharp after 20+ years!

My bright yellow tape measure (extra long, too) I wear it like a scarf when I’m sewing so it’s never misplaced.

I LOVE my iron. That along with my sewing machine was my mother’s long before and I still have both! In addition to being absolutely sentimental, I CANNOT live without my iron. EVERYTHING i do requires some ironing! It’s a definite must have and keystone staple in my supplies list.

At the top of this list are my Gingher tailor’s point scissors. My hands are small and they are the perfect size and can control them precisely. Makes trimming seams and clipping curves so much easier.

I love my Gingher scissors and my rotary cutter! Without them I would be lost! Between the two of them, I am able to cut any and everything, without trouble. So nice!
