Comment for your chance to win one of two $50 gift certificates to Britex Fabrics’ amazing online store!

BritexFabrics.com offers a stunning array of fabrics, buttons, ribbons and lace trims, and more and is the Internet home of brick-and-mortar store Britex Fabrics, a must-visit for any sewer or crafter in the San Francisco-area since 1952! We love their products, and were so excited to use their fabric, lining and vintage buttons for our Turquoise Tweed Cape project.

Until Tuesday, November 1st, you have an opportunity to win one of two $50 gift certificates.

To enter, answer the following question: What kind of fabrics would you like to see Britex Fabrics selling online? Two winners will be selected.

Good Luck!

Why oh why can’t we get beautiful fabric like that in our town? Maybe I need to have a holiday out west. Tweeds are timeless.

My vote is for silk for men’s ties – I always have such trouble finding high quality (or sometimes any) silk for ties. In particular, the type they sell in Italy or even in France. Very hard to come by! Would love to see it and win that gift certificate :)

I’d love to see some stretch denim, stretch satin, really good quality fleece and good quality washable wool. I’d also love to see a lot more jumpers for girls in sizes 8-10 made without zippers (just snaps or buttons at the shoulders) but with more STYLE.. Princess style, current fashion style etc..

I don’t live local to Britex, so hadn’t heard of it. Looks like such a fun store! I wish I was closer. I would add another vote for wool jersey. Also organic cotton or hemp fabrics.

What a lovely site! I especially loved the novelty wool. I am now dreaming of making pinafore for my daughter. As to what fabric I would like to see Britex selling online, my answer is corduroy. I do love corduroy.

I really like their website and all the wool. But i am still searcing for very thin wool (prefer merion wool) which we (here in the northern parts of europe) sew underwear. And i think i have heard of a blend called wool jersey. It is very elastic. Every year i have to buy Janus, and it is ok, but i will prefer to make my own because all the kids in my childrens kindergarden use Janus and Januss collection is only in a couple of different colours and therefor boring. I would also like to find fleece in Britex Fabrics. So – thin wool and fleece are my suggestions. Thanks!

WOW! Great cape! I wonder if making one in plaids will give it a greater vintage edge? :P

I love that Britex has a zillion shades of any color wool. But… in this day and age, their bargain fabrics might be more appropriate for the web.

PS – would be great if Britex sold kits online (i.e. fabric, notions, buttons for this cape), with a seasonal theme….
