I have a jacket in mind, from a Burda number 2-3 months old. I have it marked, waiting for me to pick it up. I have never tried tailored garments before so it would be the perfect challenge :)

I would love this Brother Sewing Machine to re-purpose clothing for my daughter, friends and family and most of all, me. I love taking old fabric and making quilts or new clothing instead of throwing them away. The first project I would tackle is to make a memory quilt for my daughter. I made her 1st year one out of her clothes that were significant/ mildly stained (ones I didnt want to donate) and she sleeps with it every night. I hope to continue making one for each year so we have something to love and remember certain memories by. My current Brother machine needs to be upgraded, but we have been through a lot of wonderful sewing times. Thanks for the opportunity! :)

♥♥♥ I’m starting a sewing group for poor and unemployed women in my community…With this group I’m hoping to give these women a chance to create their one jobs and help them to be more independent…These women are young mothers, and long term unemployed women that don’t have hope to get a job because of the advanced age but are very much valid. This machine would be a gift from heaven to all these sisters… ♥♥♥

I would give this machine to my daughter. She is already looking for a cute dress to make for her 4-H clothing project this year. We both love Project Runway and this would make it so much fun for her to continue sewing.

As a huuuuuge project runway fan living in Berlin (where there are no fabric shops as amazing looking as Mood) I would head to one of the many second hand/charity shops that are full of old clothes that no one will ever buy, pick out the garments with the nicest fabrics, and then use my new sewing machine to upcycle them. I’d make tops out of long skirts, skirts out of dresses, bags out of tops… I recently decided I was going to stop buying new clothes (the world just seems to be churning out clothes that we buy and then throw away, only to buy more) and instead just make my own, or buy second hand. This would be a great way to combine the two, whilst doing something good for charity!
