These dresses and separates have feminine details that stand out in black and white, just like a vintage cameo pin. Show off ladylike details with pintucks, pleats, and ruffles in this classically pretty collection. These designs are from the October 2011 issue of Burda Style magazine. All instructions for previously published patterns have been updated.

Accent the wide legs of these pretty Pressed Trousers with sharply creased fronts. Pockets, a zip fly, and waistband have a polished look for the office with just enough drama from bright white fabric and a retro fit.

Play peekaboo in this Little Black Dress with Lace Inset. A lace inset is the perfect feminine detail to show off your decolletage in a demure way. Add the optional neck scarf for a flirty accessory.

An elegant jabot fancies up this collarless Blouse. Delicate chiffon makes the jabot flutter

A timeless little black Dress gets a sweet pop of girlish style with a contrasting Peter Pan collar. A perfect demure look for fall!

The Dress with Peter Pan Collar and Pin Tucks has lots of ladylike detail. This is a versatile little number that doubles as a professional look, fall day dress, and outfit to meet the parents.

Sweeten up your everyday top in the Blouse with Front Pleats and a Peter Pan collar. This top has year round style and a little keyhole at the back neckline.

Show as much or as little skin as you please in this Wrap Blouse with Ruffled Collar. The ruffles give your chest a little boost, and the gathered sleeves and tied waist bring the feminine look together.

This lovely Dress with Galloon Lace Detail is fit for a coronation ball or ladies’ tea party. Princess seams shape the fit-and-flare silhouette, and a large lace applique gives a dreamy finish.

An Knee Length A-line Skirt gets a little structure from a front seam and buttoned pockets. Change up the length to take this look from casual to office wear.

A collarless Button Down Blouse shows off your face and jewelry. Wear this simple piece with a romantic updo, brooch, or cocktail earrings.

Black and white fabrics are the perfect canvas for these romantic, detailed designs. Try a new technique, like lacey details, pintucks, or a simple Peter Pan collar. These timeless details are always in style!

Happy sewing!

If only Peter Pan collars didn’t make me look so juvenile…I envy the women they work for! Was excited to realize that I have the blouse pattern already, now I need the a-line skirt with pockets and wide-leg pants.

A beautiful collection! Beautiful model too; I think these drapey clothes look best on a very slender woman.

The styles are lovely, but that model!!! A non-anorexic would have made the clothes look so much better.

Your comment was lovely, but leaving out the body shaming would have made it look so much better.

I love the whole collection so much; I’m going to by the magazine. Fantastic style and garments. Timeless. Love the unique peter pan collar with almost no gap. Wondering how the little black dress with lace would look in blue velvet, really wanting to make the button down blouse and love those comfortable high waisted pants. Thank you Burda!

I love the whole collection but my favorite is the white dress with the lace detail. I love this. I want it all. Thanks for sharing.

I think that this is a beautiful collection and very well styled. I really like the LBD with the Lace Insert; it is very pretty and I plan to make this
