BurdaStyle.com is seeking a creative, smart freelance graphic designer in the New York City area to help generate/execute/produce great designs for our online editorial, marketing and sales materials, ads, newsletters, contests, sponsored editorials, banners and creative for offline events like fairs and shows. The designer must understand the BurdaStyle brand and ensure brand consistency. The designer must be capable of working independently and within a small team environment.
•Provide visual solutions and produce high quality work for variety of projects including: online editorial, marketing and sales materials, ads, newsletters, contests, sponsored editorials, banners and creative for offline events like fairs and shows
•Maintain project timelines to ensure all deadlines are met
•Understand cost implications that can impact the design
•Communicate effectively with team members, especially Marketing & Sales team
•Strong design, verbal, organizational and time management skills
•Bachelor degree in graphic design, art, etc.
•1-2 years of relevant experience
•Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Keynote
•Good typography skills, keen eye on good design
•Must be organized and a self-starter
•Desire to be part of a high growth, fast paced business and the largest online sewing community and
leader in the DIY movement
•Stay current on interactive and tech media trends
•Experience with video and a working knowledge of the web is a plus
The position is available in our office in Rockefeller Center, New York, NY.
Hours and Compensation
15-20 hours per week. We offer a fun work environment and competitive compensation.
