Ever wander beach side in a lovely gown that blows in the summer wind? We thought so, and are introducing to you this gorgeous new dress pattern collection from burda style magazine’s June 2013 issue. These gorgeous gowns would all make wonderful bridesmaid dresses for summer weddings! Or dresses to wear if you’re attending. We just love all the flowing silhouettes with intricate necklines and features…Check them all out!

This long sleeved Dress with gathered sections is perfect for those cooler summer nights where you still want to look dressed up.

This is a floor-length Dress in chiffon with fine pleats radiating out at shoulder and waist. The slit in the skirt blows open in the breeze, and gives this dress that extra something special. This would make an awesome beach wedding dress too!

This asymmetrical Dress with cut out bat sleeve is just darling! The one shoulder is a great style, just make sure you use sunscreen to avoid getting a tan line!

This crêpe satin Gown with plunging neckline, back crossover straps and wide flared skirt is simply beautiful. A boning corset stabilizes the bodice and keeps those gathers in place.

This maxi Dress is so easy to make, but has such impact! The stretch fabric allows for no closures and the strappy details on the front are so interesting.

This side ruched Tube Dress with cowl neck, is absolutely lovely! Since the georgette has widthwise stretch, you do not need to sew in a zipper. Just slip it on, and enjoy the summer sun.

Which dress do you like most?

Happy Sewing!

There is nothing new about these designs. They look as if were reloaded from the beginning of 2000’s. All those rushed jersey on a dress will add volume to a person with a bit of extra-belly.

Many of these dresses are very pretty but the dress with the long sleeves could not be worn in the summer in my part of the world without resulting in heat stroke even at midnight. Like many others I found the post puzzling until I read the comments hehe.

These are all beautiful dresses, I especially like the last one of the list and the one with pleats from shoulder and waist. They would go well at a beach wedding on a Pacific island!

I love the long sleeve, the grey jersey maxi, the one underneath the maxi, the others I’d probably like a variation of, all in all six great dresses!

I find the chiffon dress with “fine pleats” at the shoulder and waist quite lovely! But I agree with the others who say these aren’t really beachwear, at least no beach I’ve ever been to. I suppose some of the patterns could be altered to be shorter for hot summer weather or the beach? And yes, they would certainly make nice appearances at weddings.

I think all of these dresses are absolutely stunning, However, I dont think they are " BEACH " attire unless you are attending a wedding on the beach. I feel they are more suited for Formal or out on the town wear. For the Beach we need VERY light flowy dresses that are not maxi dresses, dresses that make you feel beautiful but are casual wear something you could wear with flip flops.. I would love to see some Beach patterns that were truly beach attire…

This is just my thoughts. HOt In Florida, Lucy Huggins

I cannot fathom the number of errors I would make writing a post in German; I’ll forgive you all the grammatical blips. Love all these dresses! Just beautiful—-wish I had a young woman who’d want me to sew for her!

The people who design these dresses must not live in Texas…….. There is no way ANYONE would survive in outfits like that in the hot Texas summer sun… just sayin’

Cute dresses… could you please have an editor look at your posts before publishing, though?

“Or dresses to wear if your attending” → you’re (you are), “your” is a possessive

“…the strapy details on the front " → strappy, two p’s

“…is absolutly lovely!” → absolutely, with an e

“…you do not sew zipper” → “you do not need to put in a zipper”. The way it’s worded sounds like an awkward command.

And those are just the most obvious.

Good point, because I found the very first question a bit puzzling, until I realised that ‘wonder’ was intended to be ‘wander’.

      Nice collection though….

Ha ha – you remind me of my work collegue – all my work comes with markups like these. I agree spelling needs to be checked BEFORE it goes live or is sent onto a client :)

Dear Anna, I´m sorry if we offend you with our english spelling. Personaly is´s been 25 years since i had english gramma at school and I don´t use it every day. I live in Danmark and speak danish, and number of other languages. This forum is global – and for people who love to sew more than they love gramma.
      Best regards Patricia

Some gorgeous dresses there. Loving the grey knit dress, although may alter the top to remove the band across the chest (a perfect maternity dress I’m thinking!).

The chiffon pleated dress is lovely, and whilst it wouldn’t suit me love the cross over dress ruching will look hot on women with curves!
