Subtle prints and modern silhouettes shine in these modern patterns. Mix and match these separates for a new wave party look! These sharp designs are from the December 2013 issue of Burda Style magazine.

A new lapel treatment can totally change the look of a Blazer. This one has deep lapels finished “bord à bord”, or, edge to edge, and closed with hooks and eyes. Make it into a new wave outfit!

A silky print is the best fabric for Cowl Neck Dress. The front has a more modern look than a wrap dress, just the thing for a gallery opening or museum gala.

A jacquard print with some body livens up these classic Wide Leg Pants. Pleats and side seams on the front elongate the leg for a streamlined look.

A bold print takes this Trenchcoat from ordinary to eye-catching. This crisp jacket will brighten up a rainy day with its jaunty collar and pockets.

A simple, collarless blouse gets charming detail from patch pockets and a neat hidden closure. Wear this sweet style with a collar necklace, or throw it over a lightweight turtleneck for an elegant look.

This straight cut Box Jacket has an adorable ribbon edging that highlights the crew neck and patch pockets. This piece adds a little structure to your outfits, for everything from skinny jeans to soft sweaters.

Contrast grosgrain ribbon and a zipper freshen up this little Skirt. The quirky details are a fun way to show off your style and bring a new pop of color into your wardrobe.

This silky Ribbon Neck Blouse has an interesting cut and construction— side sleeves that open at a split neckline and close with a seam at the back yoke. The neckline ties up with a ribbon for a feminine finish.

These slim Peg Pants are fitted with a waistband, crisp pleats, and a classic welt pocket at the back. Trouser fabrics with in a bold print with a little shine are a fun choice for parties paired with kicky loafers and a structured top.

A hint of masculine style, a jacquard print, a silky pant— these are the details we love for fall! Mix and match them with chunky boots and glowy makeup for fall.

Happy sewing!

I must admit, I’m having trouble seeing how these garments would look in more ordinary surroundings or on a body shaped more like mine. The Cowl Neck Dress is almost completely incomprehensible, structurally.

It’s a very eye-catching photoshoot, but it doesn’t really depict the clothing in a usable fashion.

I like these- much to my surprise! Not sure I would choose the shiny fabric all the time but each style choice has potential for all sizes- though I’m sure that when I check that they will only go to UK size 14! I just wish all patterns were available in whichever size you wanted !

Nice patterns but badly chosen fabrics and print combination!

The skirt with the zip – love it. The blouse and trench also make my list. Some really cute work clothes in this collection.
