From the site, our Facebook and Twitter pages, we received nearly 400 entries for ‘The September Issue’ DVD giveaway! Answering the question “why do you love fashion,” you all inspired us so much, and reinforced why we love this great community.
Chosen at random, member WhiteElephant was selected on the site and member PaperTiger on Twitter to receive the prize! Here is why they love fashion:
- WhiteElephant: “I love fashion because it has a way of affecting everyone, not necessarily through clothing but through all the ways a person expresses themselves. From someone’s body piercings, to the way they cut their hair, to the type of ipod case they own and all the way down to their shoes fashion is there; whether a person admits it or not. I also like the idea that fashion is ever-evolving. Though trends repeat themselves, it’s always in a fresh and exciting way.”
- PaperTiger: “Fashion: body as a canvas, a way to tell a story, give an impression, be a sculpture. The world is the gallery! That’s why I love fashion!”
Fantastic responses guys! Here are some other great ones:
- MindyCen: “I love fashion because each trend reflects the time, mindset, social culture, political stance, ethics, and aesthetics of its era. It’s a visual reflection of society’s reaction to states of being and progession.”
- dewreb: “Fashion is my art. I come from a family of artists and I’m the only one who wasn’t gifted in using my hands to create traditional art (paintings, drawings, sculpture). I love fashion because it turns me into an artist. I’m able to create something beautiful that I’m proud of. (Plus it’s always fun to feel that you look cute!)”
- Alexandra W (via Facebook): “I love fashion because of the reinvention it entails everyday. I can always dress exactly how I feel without having to compromise. I wish everyone realized the power of fashion.”
- @xmishex (via Twitter): “I love fashion because it’s fun and it can be whatever you want it to be.”
As you can tell, there are many reasons to love fashion! For whatever reason you have, we’re encourage you to showcase your love by posting creations, participating in discussions and trying different patterns!
