November 1st marked the release of our very first publication, The BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook! We are spending the week eagerly preparing for our official book launch party this Thursday at Housing Works in New York and are excited to meet new faces, connect with old friends and spend an evening sharing the love of sewing and DIY.

In honor of our book release, we had videographer and media producer Dan Delaney create an introductory video featuring BurdaStyle co-founder Nora Abousteit and creative director Alison Kelly. Get to know the co-authors and learn a little bit more about the background of The BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook, plus make sure to stay tuned for more coverage, behind the scenes looks and sneak peeks from our very first book!

The BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook ships now from retailers in the U.S. Get your copy from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indie Bound or wherever books are sold!

I have to agree with every word on gedwoods’ comments. The effort is amazing and the book was so very highly welcome all over the world! It is absolutely stunning, just like it’s creators!

I get all teary-eyed watching this, I feel so emotional about this effort… Super introductory video. Also great to see Alison live – I never saw the Runway shows she was part of, so this is the first time I see her in “action”. And Nora, well, Nora is always a pleasure to watch and listen to! Kudos all around!
