A white top or dress makes for the perfect summer outfit. It’s up to you how you will embellish these patterns, whether with crochet or jewelry, but the Prairie Girl look is in…

From top left: Nothing says summer like a flowing white maxi dress. This pattern is different from the Magenta Maxi Dress I blogged about earlier this month, which had criss-crossed straps in the back. This style has a cute bustier-like top and straight straps. Super feminine and alluring. To the right is our Tunic top with crocheted flowers, the small circular detail exhibits BurdaStyle member Laura Oprea’s sleek cotton eyelet rendition. Bottom right showcases a super trendy Off the shoulder blouse in white eyelet. The detail shot is of BurdaStyle member tonif’s take on this top: she made a stunning dress!. Bottom left features the go to dress for summer, an Empire waist 3/4 sleeve dress. Made from white eyelet and broderie anglaise with a single scalloped edge.

I think as is normal with microsoft products – IE is the worst browser available!

Anyway – in relation to the actual post – I really like these Prairie Girl outfits, but why are they all in white? I’d have thought white wold be the most impractical colour you could get for a ‘prairie girl’! :-)

Well, it is alittle annoying that I have to use Mozilla firefox to see the pictures since pictures are about 99% of what you want to see on a sewing site. Well, if I didn’t have mozilla I would have just said screw it, but because I have it (and now know what it is) I will try to view it that way. Pain in the rump, though!

I don’t agree that IE is the best, but it is the most popular. I ALWAYS have issues with the pictures and it is very disappointing. I refuse to download other browsers because they invariably mess up my computer. Chrome actually made it so that I cannot open my administrator accounts. If this is a known issue, Burda and their IT techs should address it. You all work so hard to maintain a nice website, and this shouldn’t be the one thing that messes it up! Thanks.

    David-

I completely understand. I’ve been a webmaster too. I founded scrapbooking.com in 1996 and I had browser issues even then!!! I only have MS IE installed because I go to school online. They require IE but I like Chrome- however for some reason mysteriously MS IE seems to really act poorly when Chrome is running and when any other browsers are installed. I decided to bring up Chrome and your pics are there- so it is just MS IE that seems to remain an issue. Thanks for your responses David and Alison!!!

I do all of my posts in Firefox and Safari, and use the very latest versions. I am so sorry you can’t view the images, this has only happened since very recently and we’ll do our best to figure it out, but I think updating to the latest versions of Firefox & Safari is your best bet. -alison

I agree that it should show at least in the most popular browsers, and unfortunately it happens often here. I sent emails to burdastyle, and the response was quick and very friendly but obviously the website is not quite perfect yet.

If the webmaster is too lazy to make their images cross-browswer friendly, why should I bother looking at their site?
