Dress for a totally rad night in these 80s inspired patterns. Designs in slick black and grey have a hint of retro style. These patterns are from the December 2010 issue of Burda Style magazine.

Bring the party anywhere in this sparkly long sleeved Sequin Shirt with a deep scoop neckline. A banded waistband and cuffs reign in the voluminous shape.

A Drop Waist Dress is forgiving to your figure and so comfy to wear for a long night on the town. The deep scoop neckline with twisted detail is an alluring extra.

Draped shoulders give this Wrap Dress extra detail that has a hint of the 80s and a flattering waistline. A watercolor print fabric makes it modern.

An elastic waistband makes the Tulip Skirt a quick project to finish and wear out to a party. Pick a fun print and contrasting colored elastic.

The Spencer Jacket has wide shoulders, a rounded bottom, and nipped in crossed waist. It’s a figure flatting alternative to blazers and sport coats.

A short Strapless Mini Dress is quintessential party wear. All eyes will be on you in this little number. Vertical seams create slimming lines.

You’ll always have a good night in this fun statement Jumpsuit. Dare to wear it with spiked booties at your next dance party. An optional belt adds even more 80s glam.

Seventies disco divas would love this fun Fur Jacket with full shoulders. Faux fur is warm and toasty and totally luxurious. Slip it on over a tiny dress.

Stretch jersey with a leather effect hugs your curves and has cool 80s style. The Cutout Dress has a sexy shoulder cutout and long sleeves.

Party like its 1987 in these cool patterns. A little sequin or faux leather may be just what you need to kick off the new year in style! We hope you have a blast in style.

I love the jacket and the dress – especially the dress because I have a similar dress that’s falling to bits and up till now I haven’t found a pattern that matches the style!

Apart from Mr. Garbage-bag man jumpsuit, the rest is is unusual and does not feel as a repeat from years ago. Inspiring – yes, not for everyone – yes. The only wish I would have for these awesome pictures to be more informative. I realize there is a pattern drawing and all, but come on, it does not compare to a real life picture. Seeing a model hunched over in a dress with great pleating detail without showing it off just defeats the purpose.

I agree – its an often heard complaint that would be easy to fix! We need to see details!

I’m afraid I fall into the negative category with this pattern story. But that’s what I love about Burda one persons asymmetric hideous dress is another’s dream party frock!

    I’ve reviewed the whole 12/2010 issue – http://veryvintagevixen.wordpress.com/2014/01/01/burda-style-magazine-december-2010/

I’m surprised at the negative reaction so far. These pieces are unique and interesting, even if they aren’t necessarily suited to everyone. I love the wrap dress and the cutout dress. I will definitely add a few if these to my pattern collection.

I think, the cut out dress is stunning! Negative reaction is just a fluke. I have the same reaction when I walk into the local Macy’s, but they are still in business nontheless. :)

Fur jacket looks sooo huggable! I wish I could wear that strapless mini-dress with that fur jacket! Looks fun and easy to make. But I am neither skinny nor young, so back to grays collection. :(
