Meg's Magazine Mash Up: Sewing Part 1


Hi BurdaStylers! I had a busy week this week… I was sewing, and cutting, and fabric shopping, and future project planning, oh the fun. I finished sewing the top to my Mash Up outfit, our Mesh Shirt pattern that I cut out last week, as well as cut out my joggers! I got some pretty awesome blue sweat pant fabric for them and I’m excited for them to be done in time for my upcoming travels (filming more course videos!), and I love wearing sweatpants on the plane. I truly had no idea which one of the four I wanted to make, so your input is very helpful to me and I also want to know what you want to see made. Meg's Magazine Mash Up: Vote on my Next Project Pattern!


A new year of Mash Ups means a new look! My Mash Up logo needed a bit of sprucing up, do you like the new one I made? Well… It is time to pick my new project, my last one turned out great and was my NYE dress, but now I need help choosing the next one. And since you guys have such a great track record of helping me pick the perfect pattern I am asking for your help again. I know what top I am going to make, I just need help picking the bottoms. Meg's Magazine Mash Up: Vintage Jane Dress Reveal!


I was going to post this yesterday but I decided to take New Year’s Day off and managed to watch 4 movies! I had a great New Year’s Eve in my newly made dress Vintage Jane Dress and I loved flaunted the fact that I made it in less than a week. People loved it and I loved wearing it. My favorite part was the slight flare in the skirt which made the dress nice and comfy and not too tight. Read more to see the rest of my sewing tutorial and some more project pics. Meg's Magazine Mash Up: Sewing My NYE Vintage Jane Dress!


Last week I debuted my next Mash Up pattern which was our Vintage Jane Dress, and I said it in text that I would finish sewing it by New Year’s Eve to wear it out… and I did it! I finished it last night, some sewing patterns just come together quite easy and fit perfectly the first time and this was the case. Read on to see my first steps in making the dress. Part 2 will come tomorrow where I will also include photos of me in the dress and ready to go out for New Year’s Eve!

Thank you ALL for your wonderful comments on my last project reveal for my plaid and floral dress! You guys are the best, and make me feel confident in all my sewing decisions and also make me more excited to post about what I am working on as well as seeing what you are all sewing. For this Mash Up I didn’t go through all the voting stuff (next one I will, I promise). I knew I wanted to sew a dress for New Year’s Eve and time is ticking… I chose a dress pattern from our 60s Vintage Collection (because it is awesome). Read on to see the pattern I picked as well as my fabric selection and design alterations. I’m super excited about this one, and I only have just over a week to sew it EKK.

Meg's Magazine Mash Up: Dress Reveal!


It’s done! My plaid and floral dress is finally complete, and the end result is fabulous in my eyes. This Mash Up has taken a lot longer than I originally planned and wanted, but it was totally worth it in the end. Again, I made this Mash Up from our High Collar Dress pattern, I altered the neckline, hemline, and seamlines. Read on to see more!

Meg's Magazine Mash Up: Hooded Cowl Neck Top Reveal!


Here is my top all finished! This pattern was such a quick sew, and it so comfy to wear. I made this from our Hooded Cowl Neck Dress pattern, and cropped it into a top! This Mash Up was fun, and the last minute fabric change made it exciting. Read on to see more images and our Member variation’s of this pattern.
