Where are you from and where do you live?
I’ve lived in various parts of London since moving here when I was 12 and am now happily settled in lovely Brixton.

Where are you from and where do you live now? What do you do other than sewing?
I was born in Surrey, England but eventually settled in West London where I work as a freelance Graphic Designer. My work is very creative and varied, and I currently have the absolute pleasure of designing childrens books. That said, I crave sewing time and my obsession grows by the day!

I was born in Oakland, California. The Navy moved my family to Jacksonville, Florida where I was raised since I was 4 years old.

I currently reside in the city of Novato, in Marin County, California. I grew up in Marin County, and have lived here my entire life (excepting a brief stint at school).

Where are you from and/or where do you live now? What do you do other than sewing?
I’m from a small village near the city of Bergamo, North of Italy. I studied History of Art at Milan University and “Tailoring for Showbiz” at Teatro alla Scala Academy. I’ve also worked in Rome for a few weeks at a costume house that are preparing costumes for a Turandot opera. My plan, though, is to open my own handmade shop. That’s my dream!

I am originally from the former capital of Kazakhstan, called Alamty, which I left 17 years ago. Currently, I live in Düsseldorf, Germany.

I was born in Long Beach, California, but grew up on Sydney’s Northern beaches. I am the younger of only two siblings and grew up a part of a close, creative and colourful family in an old return serviceman’s house that was built in the late 1940’s. My childhood was always spent following one creative pursuit or another, be it sewing little clothes and beds for “the garden fairies” or writing quirky, albeit somewhat morbid tales. I now live in Sydney’s inner west in an old Victorian Terrace called “Horaceville” and work full time as a receptionist for a fashion house.

I grew up in Lincoln City, Oregon (the central coast), but now live in Brooklyn, New York. I’m a writer (a journalist and also a budding screenwriter).

If we were to come to your town, where would you take us?
I’d take you to the discount “jobbers” on 39th street between 7th and 8th for great deals on cottons and silk, then to B&J on 7th Avenue to drool at the amazing selection of dream fabrics. We’d go to Purl Soho for awesome quilting fabrics. In Brooklyn, we’d go down to Red Hook to Brooklyn General Store, a sweet little knitting and fabric shop that carries all natural fiber textiles.

Where are you from and where do you live now?
I’m a native Californian living in Los Angeles. Besides sewing, I love to draw, cook, collect vintage, and grow things.

If we were to come to your town, where would you take us?
L.A. has a lot to offer—and not just tourist traps! First, I’d suggest coming in the spring when the jacarandas are in bloom. We have so many flowering trees here, something is blooming year round but I think the purple flowers of the jacaranda are the most striking.

Where do you live?
I live in Sydney, Australia. Inner West Sydney is a real creative and quirky area –full of cool cafes and junk shops- I love it. Besides sewing I make jewellery from found objects.

If we were to come to your town, where would you take us?
Sydney has some amazing and famous landmarks but I would take creative visitors to the great industrial waste recyclers like Reverse Garbage or The Bower- both within walking distance of home.

Where are you from and where do you live now?
I was born and brought up in South Africa, but now live in the UK with my husband and two teenage daughters. I live in a small market town called Shipston-on-Stour in South Warwickshire near Stratford-upon-Avon. It’s a great little town with a fabulous old fashioned identity, but unfortunately no fabric shop. Currently I work for myself and my girls! I used to teach fashion part-time in adult education, but with the funding being as it is for adult education at the moment, I get to sew at home all day, everyday!

Where are you from and/or where do you live? What do you do other than sewing?
I am from Chennai, India. I was born and brought up here and have lived all my 31 years of live so far out here in this beautiful, traditional, conservative yet caring city of Chennai. I am a SAHM (ex-s/w engineer) who loves pampering her 4.5 year old little princess and an aspiring freelance fashion designer dreaming of launching own clothing line in near future!

Where are you from and where do you live now?
I was born and live in Espoo which is the second biggest city after Finland’s capital Helsinki. Although Espoo doesn’t feel like a city at all; when I come back home from Helsinki, which is very close to Espoo, it feels almost like I lived in a countryside. There is so many lakes to swim in and great forests to wander around here!

Where are you from and where do you live now? What do you do other than sewing?
I am originally from Malaysia. To escape the humidity and heat, I took up an offer with a US based company… Recently, my fiance and I moved from Iowa to Washington. There are a few other things that occupy my time namely watercolor painting, knitting, and polymer clay sculpting. There are just too many things to do!
