I grew up in California and am currently living in Boston for grad school. [In addition to sewing] I also enjoy knitting, blogging, computer games, reading, traveling, and learning languages.

I’m from San Diego, California where I still reside today! I do a few things other than sewing. I write a personal style fashion blog called These Days, have a part time job, and I’m a student. In general I’m a DIY kind of girl, but other than that I like to play the piano, video games, and spend time on the computer.

I was born and live in Munich, the capital of Bavaria, in Germany. It’s most well known for the Oktoberfest, but honestly, that is the one thing I like least about my wonderful city. Currently I am attending Esmod International Fashion School and am just about finished with my first year. I am however, for a fashion student, relatively disinterested in current fashion. Instead, I’m hoping to become a costume designer after I graduate.

I hail from the concrete jungle of Melbourne’s Northwest, a stone’s throw from the ever-lit International Airport. I have lived here my whole 20 years and 10 months of this incarnation. Before my time, the subdivision on which my house was built was a drive-in movie theatre.

I started sewing when I was about 12, making doll clothes and around the age of 15 I made myself some simple dresses and bags with the help of my mother. After that I stopped sewing for some time. After my first child was born, I felt a strong need to make and create things.

Where are you from and where do you live? What do you do other than sewing?
I come from the very small village of Normandy, France. I lived there until the age of 17, then moved to Paris to study architecture. During my studies I was lucky to stay a year in Göteborg, Sweden, thanks to an exchange program. Last year, after completing my Masters last year, I moved to Montréal, Canada where I have been living for nearly 7 months.

I grew up splitting my time between a small northern New Hampshire town and an even smaller northern Vermont town where my dad lived in a cabin in the woods.

I am from Santa Cruz, California but for the past 5 months I have been traveling through South America. Before my trip, I was a buyer for a fabric store and did custom dressmaking and small design projects on the side. In addition to sewing, I like playing the ukulele, eating delicious food, drawing and traveling!

I am from the east coast of the United States — Virginia, specifically. I moved to the West Coast almost ten years ago and now reside in San Francisco. I love it out here, but Virginia will always hold a special place in my heart.

What is your dream sewing project?
There are so many things on my drawing board! I would love one day to become a lingerie designer, so an actual collection that I had designed and made patterns for would be my dream. Also, I’d like to think that in the future, if I get married, I would make my own wedding dress. I think that has to be the ultimate sewing project, doesn’t it?!
