In celebration of these two colors that we will sure embrace for the next year, we’ve created a dedicated collection of patterns that embody these lovely colors and even styled a few looks. Buy or Make: Cape & Wrap Jacket Edition

Capeheaderimage_medium

It’s been said that every year when the leaves change colors and the air gets crisp it’s like a rebirth for us all. Well…we like to think it is, at least for our closets! This fall we can’t wait to sew up a cape. They are so cozy, chic and fun to wear. It can also be a very versatile piece, especially when you get to make it yourself! Lose the sleeves, add a belt, incorporate illusion sleeves, the options are nearly endless!

We’ve chosen a few of our designer cape favorites and paired them with look-a-like BurdaStyle patterns so that you can get the look for way less! Now, we know that you are probably not purchasing $3,000 capes and believe us, we aren’t either! But we love fashion and it’s fun to look at those out-of-reach items and imagine how we can at least look like our outfit cost as much as our car. Fashion is fun, so have a little fun with it!

Buy or Make: Floral Jumpsuit Edition

There’s no denying that jumpsuits are hot on the scene right now. Celebrities including Jaime King, Blake Lively and Rhianna have all been known to sport this trendy number – on and off the red carpet. Jumpsuits are a perfect alternative when you’ve over-worn all your summer dresses and are looking for something as equally chic and comfortable to wear.

Want to take the style factor up another notch from just your average jumpsuit? Make it in a floral print! It adds a carefree, sexy summer feeling to your outfit and floral prints are easily dressed up or down. Pair it with wedges for work, sandals for a shopping trip and strappy heels for a night out with your girlfriends!

We’ve rounded up a few of the floral jumpsuits that we are completely coveting right now but don’t exactly fit into our budget. Lucky for us, we can make it instead of buying it for a heck of a lot cheaper!

Buy or Make: Swimsuit Edition

Swimwearheaderimage_medium

Summertime is all about fun and sun but when you’re shopping for a new swimsuit it seems you’re left with either the same Target swimsuit that every other girl at the beach will be wearing or a very hefty price tag from a designer swimsuit. To help you stand out and keep your wallet in check, we’ve picked out some of the trendiest (and most expensive!) swimsuits that look strikingly similar to BurdaStyle patterns so that you can make it yourself, using fabric and tailoring that’s perfect for you.

Celebrity Style Inspiration: Kendall Jenner

Kjfeature_medium

In the past year, Kendall Jenner has transformed from a backseat reality TV star to a full-fleged super model and street style It-girl. She’s proven that despite her infamous family shenanigans, you can make a solid and respectable name for yourself. When she’s not busy jet-setting to walk the Chanel runway in Austria she’s sporting some seriously chic looks while running errands in New York and LA.

Below we’ve highlighted some of our favorite looks from the 5’10 stunner and paired sewing patterns that will help you get that model-off-duty style.
