Send in drawings, video or photos of your pimped out machine to team(at)burdastyle.com.

The prize for a great pimped out sewing machine drawing will be $50. However, if you send in photos or video of your pimped out machine you could win $100!

Send in as many entries as you would like. Just get them to us by 11:59 pm, November 30th 2008

Once all of these are collected, you will get a chance to vote for your favorite!

She received the most votes in the Malissa Cocktail Dress Variation Contest! Not bad for a first time upload! Her red silk jersey variation received 304 votes, in second place Mirela‘s great variation (bottom right) with 253 votes and with third place Prudencerabbit’s great green dress (bottom left) with 114 votes. Thank you to everyone who voted and submitted their work, this has been our most successful contest yet!

Gertie will have her dress photographed in our photoshoot, receive a look book, get cards or the dress and receive all the high res pictures from the shoot.

We want YOU to get more involved, so we are inviting you to step up to a new challenge.



We are in the midst of designing a new variation, a cocktail dress version, of the Malissa dress, which will post on November 17th and will include the original pattern plus instructions on how to modify it.



Next to that variation we would love to see your idea of what the Malissa dress could look like as a cocktail dress.



Design and sew a variation of the Malissa dress and send a photo to team@burdastyle.com . The dress with the most votes will be part of our professional photo shoot along with the BurdaStyle creation.



Additionally, the winner of the contest will receive a CD of high resolution photographs from the photo shoot, a look book with prints and cards with the image on it for you to hand out to friends.



Send in your photo of your variation to team@BurdaStyle.com by the 23rd of September, along with a brief description on the pattern changes you have done.
TIP: Keep it simple. If you are the winner, we will ask you to create the how to explaining the pattern changes as well!!

Congratulations to senaSews!!! Her Smocked Anda received 217 out of 785 votes making her the winner! Her smocking technique was beautifully done, using a diamond effect to give the waist some definition. senaSews will be receiving a copy of Singer Sewing Essentials, a $25 fabric voucher and lots of BurdaStyle goodies. If you haven’t voted yet, this is your last chance. Voting ends today at midnight! There have been many a time when people have regretted not voting, assuming that someone else will just make the right decision for them. Don’t risk it, get in there and make your voice heard!

So, it was really hard for us to pick the winning design, so hard in fact that we had to send our choices to the team in Germany to help us make the final call. We have come to an international conclusion. We would like to announce the winner, congratulations to Spiderlily! Though the others were great, she got everything correct, especially the tricky leg holes. What set her design apart from the rest is that the leg holes in her design were not cut too high. Ceregana came in second and inge came in third. Ziancabug earned our honorable mention. Thank you for all of the submissions. We were so glad to have to work so hard to pick the winner, it truly is a testament to your skills.

That’s right, we felt it was time for another contest. Get your pen and pencil out, warm up your hand, pull out the paper. We are going to be looking for your best technical drawings. As some of you may have noticed, there is no technical drawing associated with the Alison swimsuit. We thought it would be a great opportunity for all of you out there who are not only a whiz at the sewing machine, but also have the sketching skills of DaVinci, to showcase your talents. We are excited to see all you multitalented members out there. You have until the 18th of July to send us your best technical drawing of the Alison swimsuit. The winner will receive $50! So send’em in to us at team@burdastyle.com and good luck!

We hope you all had a lovely Easter: that the Bunny brought you some chocolate, you got to wear a pretty dress, kiss some loved ones, and enjoy a little sunshine. Judging from our Inbox, many of you got into the Easter spirit by partaking in our very own BurdaStyle Egg Hunt! Many of you found all 10 eggs—Congratulations! Instead of a hat, we drew our three winners from an Easter basket, and they are: First place, kallers; Second Place, ziancabug; Third Place, charlotte287.
