Project Runway Recap, S 16, E7

The Ultimate Faceoff: The challenge this week was to create a menswear-inspired look using fabrics from JC Penny menswear fashions. The perfect challenge for Brandon and Kentaro, who already do menswear-inspired designs for every challenge. Sure enough, they were on the top but didn’t take the win.

Project Runway Recap, S 16, E6

Models Off Duty: This week the designers had to create a street wear look for their model to wear in the heart of NYC for a professional photo shoot. The models would then be able to post these photos on their social media accounts.

Descending Into Good and Evil: The stars from Disney’s Descentants 2 were on hand at Lyndhurst Castle to present this week’s challenge: Make an eveningwear garment inspired either by “good” or “evil.” Michael, the winner from last week, got to choose who would be “good” and who would be “evil.” Everyone seemed happy with his choices.

We’re Sleeping Wear? The designers must incorporate surface embellishment techniques into sleepwear fashions for Heidi Klum’s Sleepwear Collection. The winning look will be mass produced for Heidi’s line.

Sewing for Good: Sewing Charities

Whether you have a few extra minutes to spare or a lot of extra fabric to share, a little generosity goes a long way when it comes to sewing for charity. Read on to learn about about nine sewing charities working hard to help you put your sewing talents to great use.

Project Runway Recap, S 16, E3

A Leap of Innovation – Taking inspiration from the movie Leap: I’ll start off by saying: I don’t get it. The winning look from E3 looked like a sloppy, ill-fitting oversized men’s shirt with button loop accents. Why was this suddenly a masterpiece? I was sure Aaron would be “safe.” Not in the bottom, but safe. However, he was the winner of this challenge, and has immunity for next week. If he wasn’t so sweet and genuine, I’d be more upset.

Tony Awards Best Dressed 2017

The Tony Awards is beginning to show that it can have a seat at the big kids table. If you’ve been a watcher of the Tony Awards you can’t help but notice that stars are bringing a lot more A game to their fashion choices. Anyone remember when Frances McDormand accepted the Best Actress award in a (gasp!) jean jacket? Lucky for fashion followers, critics and lovers of glitz and glam there were no jeans at this years show. However, you can tell there is a much more understated look to this awards show than say the Oscars, Cannes, Gold Globes etc.

Let’s look at some of the more memorable looks of the night. I have to say one of my favorites is Katrina Lenk. Her gold dress, especially against the floral back drop was simple elegance.
